Hazardous Materials Code Enforcement
About This Course
This 5-day course aims to help students gain and share knowledge, skills, and abilities to effectively identify and analyze risks associated with hazardous materials. It also teaches students how to classify materials and apply codes, standards, and regulations to prevent incidents and reduce threats to life and property. By the end of the course, students will be able to assess fire and life safety measures both inside and outside structures or facilities that handle, use, store, transport, and dispose of hazardous materials.
Learning Objectives
To gain the knowledge and skills needed to assess the risks associated with hazardous materials, including identifying and categorizing the materials and applying relevant codes, standards, and regulations to prevent incidents and minimize harm to people and property.
To conduct thorough inspections of potential hazardous material releases in both occupied and unoccupied structures, focusing on fire safety, health, and overall life safety.
To evaluate the level of fire and life safety measures in place for the manufacturing, transportation, storage, use, and disposal of hazardous materials.
Target Audience
- This course is intended for individuals with code enforcement responsibility at occupancies and facilities that manufacture, transport, store, use and dispose of hazardous materials.
