About This Course

This one-day session is intended to give emergency personnel a basic introduction to the globally accepted and extensively employed Incident Command System, ICS. This is an introductory level training course.

Learning Objectives

Describe the functional areas of ICS and the roles of the Incident Commander and Command Staff.
Outline the fundamentals and framework of the Incident Command System (ICS).
Detail the NIMS management features that form the foundation of ICS.
Explain the operational components of ICS and the functions of the Incident Commander and Command Staff.
Explain the responsibilities of the General Staff in ICS.
Discuss how the NIMS management features are applicable to ICS in various job roles and subject areas.

Requirements

  • There are no software or materials needed
  • You'll be equipped with confidence and skills during this course, so simply need a willingness to learn

Target Audience

  • All personnel who take up any function in an organization that uses ICS, such as emergency responders, emergency pre-incident planners, and environment, health & safety, and fire professionals, are expected to be aware of this.
